Q：Where to buy school uniforms,Are they different between schools?

A：

Lee: You can usually buy school uniforms in big department stores or a special shop where schools have a deal with the company.

一般来说可以在大型的百货商场或者是和学校有生意往来的商店买到校服。

Mike: Yes, the uniforms are different. In the private schools, they are very expensive and the quality of the material is much better.

校服都是不一样的。私立学校的校服基本都非常昂贵、而且质量比普通学校的校服要高很多。

Joseph：Some private schools sell the uniforms while others require professional dress and the students are responsible for going out and buying cloths that fit the dress code.

私立学校学生一般都在自己学校购买校服，一些有严格着装规定的学校则需要学生自己去购买符合标准的衣服。

Q：Will students be punished if they refuse to wear school uniforms?

学生不穿校服的话会有什么后果吗？

A：

Lee: In schools with strict uniform policies, yes, students will be punished or suspended.

对于那些有严格规定的学校，不穿校服的学生会被处分甚至停课。

Mike：Yes, they can be refused entry into the school and the parents may have to come to pick them up from school.

会有处罚的，一般来说他们很可能会被禁止进入校园，再者就是通知家长来把孩子接回家去。

Ben：If student weren't meeting the dress code, the would be asked to cover the offending clothing.

假如学生的服装不符合规定，他们会被要求用其他方法把违规的部分遮挡起来。

Q：As a teacher, what do you think is the point of school uniforms?

作为老师来说，你认为校服存在的意义是什么？

A：

Lee: I think they eliminate a social class system and helps students to not "look" rich or poor since everyone looks the same. Though uniforms can look smart, I believe that schools should reflect our society. Do we wear a uniform at home? In our every day living? Perhaps for business and special events, we will get dressed up, but I think uniforms stifle individuality and personal expression, and the idea that uniforms promote economic equality is not necessarily true. Children know find out who have money and who struggle with it just by talking to one another. The uniform is a cover up to the reality of children's actual state of affairs.

（我认为最主要的可能是意义在于，校服的存在消除了校内社会阶层的区别，至少能帮助学生们不会被‘看上去’富有或者贫穷，因为所有人穿的都一样啊。校服这一招虽然看起来挺聪明的，但是实际上我认为学校应该更大程度考虑当今社会现状。学生们会在校外穿制服吗？日常生活中呢？一些特殊场合和商务活动可能的确会需要制服，但是讲真的我还是觉得统一的制服这种东西很大程度上扼杀了孩子们的个性和自我表达的机会。主流答案里的那种 ‘校服可以帮助实现学生间的经济地位平等’也是挺扯淡的。谁家有钱谁家没钱孩子们只要一聊天就能知道了，校服这东西只不过是学生间巨大经济和社会地位差距的遮羞布罢了。）

Mike：Students need to wear the same uniform so that each student is the same. When students wear what they want, parents to have to spend a lot of money buying designer clothes and some students get bullied depending on what clothing they wear to school.

学生需要这样的统一服装来缩小个体间的差距。假如每个学生都穿自己的衣服的话，家长则需要在服装购买上花大量的金钱，更何况很多时候校园暴力的产生也是因为服饰的差异所引起的。

Ben：The most positive aspect of uniforms in my opinion is to help prevent bullying. To stop student from picking on other students for not having nice clothes.

我个人认为，统一校服的最正面的影响就是能帮助减少校园暴力。这样子学生就不会因为没有好看体面的衣服而受别人欺负了。

Joseph: I think it's a way to instill discipline, create a culture of uniformity, and also make the atmosphere more professional.

我觉得统一校服是向学生灌输纪律这一概念的重要手段，能够制造统一、专业的学习氛围。

Q：As a teacher, what are the pros and cons of wearing school uniform and having a dress code?

作为老师，你认为强制穿校服或者有着装要求的利与弊是什么？

A：

Lee:

The pros: school uniforms look tidy and organized, help curb innappropriate attire, advertizes and markets the school, maintains tradition The cons: expensive, children will still rebel by not always wearing their entire uniform (or correctly), stifles indiviulaity and personal expression, old-fashioned and rigid

（利：强制穿校服的话当然看起来特别整齐干净啊，至少不会出现不当的着装。尤其是校服还能作为一个学校的标志对外宣传自己，还有就是有些学校穿校服已经是出了名的传统拉。

弊：太贵了！而且很多学生正处于叛逆期，肯定不会好好穿校服的，不是穿不齐一套就是穿的乱七八糟；还有就是刚才提到的，校服这东西的确让学生之间少了很多个性化的展现机会。更别提很多学校的校服又丑又老套啦。）

Joseph：

The pros are that students can't afford or dont have "cool clothes" will not be bullied nor feel inferior. The cons are that students cant express their individualism.

利：学生再也不会因为没有能力负担好看的衣服而受到欺负了。

弊：学生们没有机会去表达自我。

Ben:

Pros: might help to prevent bullying. Cons: can be too expensive for some families

利：减少校园暴力

弊：对于一些家庭来说学校的制服还是比较昂贵的。
