命题作文这种形式作文自由度大，有助于发挥独创性，体现真正的写作水平。但是自由创作空间很大，没有经验的写作者有时会不知所措，无法写作。(威廉莎士比亚，《哈姆雷特》，《自由名言》)对于粗心、不太会解答的写作者来说，偶尔写一次笔，就会不知不觉地离开主题。(威廉莎士比亚，《哈姆雷特》，《读》)因此，这种题型平时准备考试时要加强训练。

本文共分为三段，第一段第一句作者引用谚语“Failure is the mother of success”，进入正题，提高文章说服力和表现力。然后，作者运用礼法，用自己切身的体验紧紧夹在主题句中展开说明。

第二段，作者转向“however”画峰，在另一边展开了说明。很多人不承认失败，所以总是重复同样的错误。

最后一段作者在文章末尾再次重复主题，始终呼应，然后再次回到主题。这导致全文浑然一体，文章主题思想在文章前后照顾中深化。
