一、用作动词，指“支撑、给某人（物）以积极援助或支持”

1． 支撑，负担(重量)，托；搀扶

2． 养(家)；维持(生活)；负担(费用)；维持(坏习惯等)

It"s difficult for him to support himself on such a small salary.

There was too little food to support life.

食物太少，难以维持生命。

3． 支持，赞成

I"ve always supported England.

4． 证实，证明是对的(真的)

He told us facts which supported his idea.

1. 支撑物(可数)

If you don"t put a support under that roof it will fall down.
