　　Good evening, dear teachers and friends!

　　Do you feel shy when you are in public? Don’t be shy, just try. Today my topic is “Shyness”.

　　Shyness means feeling frightened when you are around other people. Some children are born shy. Some become shy later because of their life experience. In fact, everybody gets a little shy sometimes.

　　Most people have red faces and can’t talk in full sentences when they are shy. But some people become so shy that they won’t go to a restaurant. They’re too nervous to order and pay for their food. Some people are afraid of meeting strangers, so they seldom go outside. This kind of shyness can be bad for a person.

　　Several years ago, I was a shy boy. When I talked with my classmates or my teachers, my faces turned red. I was afraid to raise hands and answer questions in class. When I have problems in studying, I was afraid to ask my teachers for help. When I came to Hongli School, my teachers and classmates made me monitor. They gave me a good chance to change me. As a monitor, I changed a lot. I’m not afraid of speaking in public. I took active part in the reciting competitions in our school. I acted as a host of a talent show. I’m active about every activity.

　　If shyness doesn’t stop doing something you want to do ,being shy isn’t a big problem . Some people say shy people are good at working . They think more and talk less. They are clever. But remember not to let good chances lose . If you have to sing a song at a birthday party in front of others, just do it. Please remember: “ Don’t be shy, just try!” That’s all! Thank you!
