本单元的主题是人类和自然-宇宙探索、语篇类型-记叙文。

教学内容高中英语必修3 4单元-4节课，本文主要介绍了宇航员登月的太空探索经验。这是一篇记叙文，文章文字语言流畅，介绍故事线的时间顺序很清楚，有助于提高学生口头和笔书表达能力。

本单元的中心主题是A visit to the moon，主要介绍宇宙月球飞船和地面宇航员面临的gravity and weight change问题以及如何处理这些问题。这门课在教材中起到超越学识的继承作用。本单元的学习主题语境是人类和自然-宇宙探索，在必修6中反映相同主题语境的第4单元Globle Warming和第5单元The power of nature的未来学习起到促进作用。

在本单元中，如何探索宇宙，进行什么样的反思，围绕这些问题展开各种活动，本单元的写作课是本单元深入学习、培养高阶思维能力的落地县。
