解决：

定语从句的使用，先行词是virtue，诱导词which领导的定语从句修饰virtue，这是世代相传的美德。先行词是人，诱导词使用who。先行词是事物，诱导词是which。

用主语的用法being thrifty动名词。动词不能直接主语，必须把动词改为动名词形式。
